Demonize: Portray as wicked and threatening
Polemics: The art or practice of engaging in controversial debate or dispute
Disingenuous: lacking in frankness, candor or sincerity ... typically, deliberately not disclosing what one knows to be true
Demagogue: Someone, esp. an orator or political leader (or TV personality), who gains power and popularity by arousing the emotions, passions and, particularly, the prejudices of the people
Dignity: The state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect
Respect: Due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights or traditions of others
Civility: Formal politeness and courtesy in behavior and speech
Manners: Polite or well-bred social behavior
Discourse: Written or spoken communication or debate
Sanity: The ability to think and behave in a normal and rational manner
Haven't you had enough of the professional pot-stirrers? I have. It's time to speak up for basic civility. Remember "manners?" Remember "walk a mile in another man's mocassins?" Can we make an effort to return to respect for our fellow Americans? I think we can. Maybe it's the moral equivalent of Evel Kneivel carrying a snowball into Hell, but I think we can.
